Our Brand Story
Founded in Singapore back in 2012, WEN WU (S) GALLERY set its core mission on the conservation and restoration of antique master paintings and calligraphy.
Plagued by Singapore’s persistent humid and sultry climate, paper-based artworks are highly vulnerable to mildew, damp damage and insect erosion; compounded with most collectors’ insufficient expertise in artwork preservation, numerous precious fine arts have long suffered irreversible deterioration.
Over more than a decade of dedicated craftsmanship, our team has refined traditional restoration techniques to mend the scars left by time, conserving hundreds of precious collections from across the globe. The archive features iconic works by homegrown Singaporean artists including CHUA EK KAY, CHOO KENG KWANG, LIM SUE LUAN, PAN SHOU, TAY BAK KOI, CHEN CHONG SWEE, CHEN WEN HSI, CHEONG SOO PIENG, LIU KANG, LEE MAN FONG, WU TSAI YEN, SONG NIAN, SEE HIANG TO and FAN CHANG TIEN, alongside authentic legacies of modern Chinese art giants such as Zhang Daqian (张大千), Qi Baishi (齐白石) and Xu Beihong (徐悲鸿). We revive the original charm of brush strokes and preserve the timeless spirit of Chinese painting heritage.
In 2015, inspired by millennia-old oriental aesthetics, the gallery expanded its footprint into traditional incense and tea culture. To source premium natural agarwood, our team ventured to core producing regions spanning Kalimantan of Indonesia, Brunei, Sabah and Sarawak in Malaysia, selecting raw timber on-site while studying regional wood properties and embedded cultural heritage. Domestically, we travelled to renowned tea-growing areas across Yunnan, Guangxi, Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Hubei and Hunan, consulting veteran tea artisans and delving into aged Pu’er, Liubao tea as well as Zisha teapot appreciation. Beyond research, we launched systematic workshops on incense and tea rituals to disseminate profound traditional Chinese arts throughout Southeast Asia.
Nurtured day in and day out by paintings, incense fumes and brewed tea, our space has drawn countless global enthusiasts enchanted by the subtle grace of oriental traditional culture.
Boasting over a decade of profound accumulation, Dazhao Space was officially inaugurated in 2025. Rooted in three core pillars — artwork restoration, incense art and tea culture, it has diversified into curated fine art exhibitions, emerging artist incubation, art salons and scholarly gatherings, evolving into an integrated art hub covering restoration, cultural study, exhibition and cross-border artistic exchange. On 8 March 2026, the landmark exhibition Fragrant Herbs & Dreamscapes: Selected Paintings by Distinguished Women Artists through the Ages was unveiled. Rare private collections were displayed to the public for the very first time, earning widespread acclaim from industry professionals and avid collectors alike.
The official art platform www.wenwugallery.com is scheduled to launch soon. Drawing on our abundant offline collections and industrial experience, it links online showcase with in-person offline appreciation. Rooted in Singapore, we connect cultures via paintings, agarwood and fine tea, continuously enriching Nanyang’s art ecosystem and carrying forward oriental art heritage for perpetual prosperity.

Our Journey
An online art & lifestyle platform was launched to integrate online and offline operations, inheriting traditional Chinese culture based in Southeast Asia.
In March 2026, it hosted Fragrance in Dreams: Selected Paintings by Ancient Distinguished Ladies, exhibiting over 20 fine collected artworks.
Dazhao Space was founded in 2025, regularly holding painting exhibitions, literati gatherings, art salons and reading clubs.
It researched Chinese tea culture and made field studies at tea-producing areas nationwide.
It delved into Chinese incense culture, collected agarwood and conducted field investigations across producing areas in Southeast Asia.
Established in Singapore in 2012, mainly engaged in the restoration of antique calligraphy and paintings by famous masters.
